where we come from
People have been talking about making payments through a mobile device for nearly a decade and many companies have embarked on this journey and many are still waiting to arrive at their destination.
Mobile Vouchers, trading as Mobile Sense, was established in March 2002 by Kerl Haslam. His founding motivation was to deliver a practical and cost effective wireless payment service. His core objective was to empower mobile phone users to make wireless payments at their convenience and within their control.
He attracted a start up management team from both inside and outside the mobile industry to help him make his vision a reality, culminating in the UK launch of Beem in October 2008. The first real 'mobile money' product enabling users to send cash quickly and securely. Visit www.beemme.co.uk to find out more.
The story of Beem has just begun. The team at Mobile Sense believe it inevitable that one day we will all use our mobiles to Beem. They don't view it as replacement for debit cards, credit cards or cash. It will be used sometimes, in some places and in some instances - and with the ever accelerating pace of life they see more and more 'Beem Moments' emerging.
